Family Ministries

“You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise.”  Deuteronomy 6:7

The goal of our children and student ministries is to echo the biblical truths young people are learning in their homes. We recognize that no one spends more time with or will have a greater spiritual impact on a child’s life like a child’s parents. God has given moms and dads the great privilege and responsibility of being the primary disciplers of their children (Deuteronomy 6, Psalm 78). But even though parents are called to be the primary disciplers of their children, that does not mean they must be the sole disciplers of their children. Therefore, it is our hope at JFBC to both equip parents to disciple their children and reinforce through the children’s ministry what they are teaching in their homes.

Sunday School

Each Sunday morning, children and students meet at 10:00 AM on the Second floor of the Worship Center to grow in their knowledge and understanding of God’s Word. Children and students meet in a small group setting as they walk through the Scriptures and form relationships with other young people their age.

Children's Ministry

During the school year on Sunday nights we offer New City Catechism classes for children age 5 through the 6th grade. Our Catechism classes focus on the foundations of the Christian faith and the memorization of God’s Word. Children have fun playing games and engaging with adult leaders who are passionate about pointing them to Christ and the Gospel. Classes run from September-May 6:30-7:00 pm.

Youth Group

The Student Group gathers every Sunday morning during the Bible Fellowship hour and on Sunday evenings from 6:30-7:30 PM in the youth room for Bible study, fellowship, and encouragement. The student ministry is overseen by our Pastoral Assistant Cohen Pope who loves pouring into young people and seeing them come to know and live for Christ.
